My name is Socorro Rosa, and everyone calls me “Coco”. I am a Jersey girl living in a California world. I am a licensed Zumba Fitness® Instructor, and a certified UJAM Fitness® and AFAA Group Exercise Instructor. I have 10 years of experience teaching in the dance fitness industry, and over 20 years experience of weight training.
My Puerto Rican heritage has made it so that I have always been immersed in the latin rhythms. I have a dance background in genres such as Salsa, Reggaeton, Bachata, Cumbia, Samba, Merengue, Bellydance, Bhangra, Kizomba, Afro Beats, Soca, and Dancehall. I have a background in bodybuilding, but don’t let that scare you, my classes are fun and are for all fitness levels. I promote a nonjudgemental environment in my classes in which all feel welcomed with the goal of exercising, burning calories while having fun. There is always a party vibe in my dance fitness classes as well. I love to inspire others to stay healthy, active, and fit.
When someone takes the time to give you a positive experience, it speaks volumes. And so I would like to thank you for being an excellent mentor during all these years, I still remember the first time I walked into your class I was so scared, but you make me feel like I was home. You have taught me more than classes, lessons, exercise and dance moves I needed in my life. Beyond being my fitness mentor, you are also my friend.
The constructive advices you have given me, have encouraged me to be better and work hard to reach my goals. I will forever be grateful, I will carry these for the rest of my life.
I wanted you know, that I have the utmost respect for you, your work ethic and your awesome classes.
You have been, and continue to be, and an excellent mentor and role model to me and the whole fitness community.
Your Papi Chulo. --Ramon Flores
